Dr. Palevsky's comments - This is definitely the treatment approach that will become the wave of the future, especially as we continue to see more and more children with subtle and serious allergies. Many practitioners have been on the cutting edge by using sublingual immunotherapy to assist in the quieting of allergic symptoms in children and adults. The injection of materials into the body, for any reason, in the name of improving our health, has been one of the biggest medical mistakes of the 20th and 21st century. More and more literature is being published showing that, "the technologies (of vaccination) are largely empirical with little understanding of the underlying immunological principles and physiological mechanisms. As researchers gain knowledge of these principles and regulatory authorities become more stringent in their requirements, changes in empirical approaches have become necessary; rational vaccine design is now essential." (1) This holds true for the injection of materials in the name of improving allergy symptoms in children and adults, as well.
